More About Black And Brown Royal Standard Poodles

By Frank Russell

When it comes to really elegant and classy dogs, people will probably put Poodles on the top. These dogs are really special, looking so proudly and royal. Lately, black and brown royal Standard Poodles became especially popular. This particular variety is the largest of three recognized Poodle varieties, and should be at least fifteen inches high. Even so, most males are much higher, mostly around 25 inches.

Elegant, with great posture and exquisite manners, these dogs might seem arrogant, but they are really nice and polite, friendly and obedient. They really look royal, and most owners buy them so they could compete in conformation shows. Their price is quite high, and there require high maintenance as well, and that is probably the reason for this.

As all other purebreds, Poodles also have certain genetic diseases you have to be aware of, such as hip dysplasia, for example. They might also have some other health issues, primarily with their eyes, sensitive skin or ears. In any case, if you buy your dog from some highly respected breeder, you will probably get a limited guarantee for at least some of these genetic diseases.

Of course, no one could guarantee that your pet will be perfectly healthy always, but it would be good to make sure his parents were. It's some kind of a guarantee, and when you want make an investment, it's good to be at least partially covered. Preparing one of these magnificent animals for a show really is an investment.

These beautiful, elegant dogs come in several lovely colors. Solid colors are recognized and accepted only, and the most common ones are certainly black and white. Other interesting colors are red, brown, cream, silver and some other attractive ones. Brown and black are especially attractive, and lately quite popular among Poodle admirers.

Although there are several types of clipping, show clip is probably the most recognizable. It requires high maintenance and people rarely choose this type of clipping if their pets aren't competing in dog shows. It is much easier to choose less demanding clippings that are equally attractive. That's probably the reason for choosing this clipping after dog's show career is over.

Well, the good thing is that this great dog won't shed, or will shed just a little, not enough to cause any allergies. Maybe you didn't know that people are really allergic to dog's dandruff, not on their hair. Even so, shedding breeds release more dandruff, and in the end, it is really the same thing. So, you don't have to worry about your allergy, if you have such problems.

As well as their coat color, the skin color can also vary. Some dogs will have pink skin, some will have silver or cream. Conformation show rules accept only solid colors, but here two types can be expected. Some dogs will keep their original color shade through their lives, while others will become paler in time. This is perfectly normal, and they will keep their original shade on thicker areas, for example on their ears.
