By Virginia Roberts

Choosing the right puppy for your home and family involves a lot more than simply looking for a cute pup. After all, every puppy is cute, sweet and melts your heart. People forget everything else that goes into ownership once they look into those lovable eyes and see that sweet, chubby pooch walk over to them. Luckily, there is help available, when you go to well-known, French Bulldog breeders to find the perfect pet, you get a lot of help. Ohio residents are fortunate to have these knowledgeable, reputable, dog lovers in their midst.

A good breeder provides a wealth of information about the dog that you've chosen. The work to pair the best parents possible for your pet. When you choose your pooch, ask to see the parents, you may not be able to see both, but, you should at least be able to see one. Choosing a canine from a pet store or a backyard breeder does not give you the same benefits.

One way that you'll get peace of mind is by having help readily available. A breeder is almost always happy to answer any question you have when you come to pick out your pooch. They also offer help throughout the life of the animal. Most want you to call and discuss any issues or concerns with them. Your new puppy spent it's first months with these people and they come to know and love them as their own. They also have a very strong attachment to the breed. If they didn't, they wouldn't be doing this. It's a lot of work.

When you pick your pup up from your breeder you'll get paperwork letting you know that it's been vaccinated and that's its been wormed. This is a bonus that one wouldn't generally get from other people who sell puppies as more of a hobby. This way you know that your canine is off to a good start health-wise.

Genetic health issue concerns are minimized due to the fact that a breeder who loves the breed ensures healthy dogs are bred. A dog with a genetic condition would not be used for breeding purposes by someone who is reputable.

While there are those who would never get a dog that wasn't a rescue, that's not always an option for everyone. Though rescuing is a wonderful thing to do, if you want a certain breed, you may not be able to find it in a shelter. When you know what you want, and nothing else will do, head to your breeder and get just what you are looking for.

When it's time to mate two dogs in order to have a litter, a lot of attention is given to the attitude, and temperament of the animal. This is important in order to ensure that the puppies have amazingly, wonderful personalities. It may take time to find the best dogs to mate, but it's well worth the effort.

As you excitedly enter the property of the breeder to pick out your new pet take some time to play with, , cuddle with, and observe all of the litter mates. This lets you get a view into the unique personality of each one. This way, if you want an active, rough and tumble pooch, you can see which fits that criteria, if you want a lap dog that loves to cuddle, you can see which will give you that. This helps ensure that you end up with the best one for your lifestyle.
